This wedding photograph was taken in Boston's south end on a warm summer day. The couple wanted to pull the feel of the south end into their wedding photographs, so we did a lot of photographs with the classic Boston brownstones in the background. They walked on the sidewalk and thought the park, all of which was really beautiful. We even got access to a home and went out on a balcony. But for this image I liked the depth of the wrought iron railing's, the repeating of the patterns, and the beautiful light that is hitting the couple. I asked them to snuggle close together, in a pose that would be natural for them. They did a wonderful job, and the result is natural and romantic. The swirls of the wrought iron in front, and repeated throughout the photograph add interest. This image was taken in the early afternoon on a day that was overcast. The light in these situations can be very tricky, as it bounces there is little control. One way to gain control is put the subject underneath something, in this case a tree, and that takes away the light coming in from that direction. You now have a direction of light and can place subjects in it in a way that is flattering. You could have also added light, but I prefer the method of taking away, and using natural light as to highlight the unposed quality of the image. This wedding photograph was taken in the south end of Boston Massachusetts. The couple's reception was at the Cyclorama on Tremont Street in Boston. Image was taken with a Nikon D750 camera, 85 mm lens. Aperture 2.8mm, ISO 1600, 1/500 sec. No external light was needed for this image, as the shade from the tree created the direction of light that was desired.
