The Chequessett Club in Wellfleet, Mass is has a boathouse right on the water where you can host your wedding ceremony and reception. From a photographers point of view, the photographic opportunities are endless and ever changing here, making it a wonderful place to create image for clients.
In this image I waited until the light from the patio lights inside the boathouse reception were close in intensity to the nighttime sky. This happens well after sunset but there needs to still be a glow to make the sky blue. I wanted to capture the vibe of what it felt like to have an open-air reception, both warm and energetic but with the cool night right there as well. I included the ramp to bring the viewers eye to the inside of the boathouse, and love the way the light is hitting it.
