Christian Science Center Boston Wedding Photos

This couple was married at the Westin Copley Place in Boston, MA with a reception in the Westin's gorgeous Staffordshire Ballroom. Bride and Groom portraits were taken after the ceremony, while guests enjoyed their cocktail hour. The couple and I were whisked away for photos around Boston, first stopping here at the Christian Science Center on Huntington Ave. There are strict rules while photographing in this space, and it's important to respect those so of course we did. I have always been drawn to this line of trees, how it seems a secret hideaway amongst the concrete and noise of the city all around. Especially when the trees are full in the summertime it's a brief getaway.

I used a long lens (70-200mm) to create compression amongst the trees, adding to the continuous canopy look. The long lens combined with my distance away from the subjects also contributed to the small depth of field, allowing separation between the subjects and the background thus drawing the viewers eye right to their faces.

The final piece that makes this image work is the bright red bouquet, adding not only a pop of color but helping to keep the viewer focused on the center of the frame. I love how this image shows a beautiful connection between the bride and groom, and the palette of green behind their stark black and white attire. The couple was hoping for a collection of unique Christian Science Center Boston Wedding Photos and we had a great time creating them!

After our time on Huntington Ave, we went to several other locations in Boston for wedding photographs before re-joining the party at the Westin Copley Place.

I absolutely love this space and look forward to visiting it again with another happy client!
