A sweet kiss and fall plaid blanket top off this image from a Church Island Squam Lake wedding.
Church Island, also known as Chocorua Island Chapel, is one of the sweetest places I have seen for a wedding ceremony. The private island has iconic green benches for guests, an organ hidden inside a rustic shed, a cross made of birch trees and the most gorgeous view of the lake. Guest arrive either by private boat or pontoon boats rented from the Squam Lake Science Center in Holderness, NH.
Once at the docks, guests follow a trail into the island leading to the chapel area. Surrounded by the lake and panoramic views of New Hampshire mountains, the island is filled with photo opportunities. My favorite is the small docks around the East side of the island that can be used for private moments and couples photographs.
This image was taken as the couple and I rode away from the island and towards their reception in Wolfeboro. I love how the ride give the couple an opportunity to take a few moments for themselves - and, of course, those moments make for incredibly sweet photographic moments. The couple, their ceremony island, and this gorgeous lake are all front and center in this image.
And I got to ride on this incredible wooden boat! One of the perks of the job :)
Hosting a wedding on this gem of a lake? I know it well and would love to be a part of your day!
