I had known Bethany for a few years before her sweetheart Mark popped the question. Talented wedding florist for many of the events I have photographed, it was an honor to have her as a client. They chose fall Lincoln Woods engagement photos for their first time in front of the camera. The day we were there popped with color! But this black and white image remains one of my favorites from the afternoon. I love the kiss (told you I was a sucker for forehead kisses!). Her face lifted towards the sky very naturally and the result is a soft light on her expression that really makes the image.
I don't normally frame dead-center like this, but made a purposeful choice to do so here and it really works. the background here is so incredibly simple, but the texture and toning make it interesting.
The rest of this series has the couple frolicking in the same space, walking and laughing. But this image remains my personal favorite. Engagement sessions are most often purchased a part of the wedding package and include a full set of files. Because even though this image is my personal favorite from the series, I really want you to have them all to enjoy and share.
