Wedding ceremony moments

Sometimes I have to fight really hard to find amazing light. Sometimes I need to pack extra batteries to create it. And sometimes, like with this image, the opportunity for gorgeous light is there if you can see it. In this instance, I saw it in the sweetest wedding ceremony moments.

I was waiting for the bride and her bridesmaids as the sun was setting. We had just finished formal images before the ceremony, and the procession was about to begin. The sun had just gotten low enough to peer into the stained glass windows on the left side of the church (as I was standing) and hit the aisle in the most gorgeous way. For this image, I shut off all of my lights and metered for the ambient sunlight. What an incredible treat that the FOG stood where he did, just a step back so that sunlight hit the bride as she was being given away. There are several stunning images of the two of them walking down the aisle, but this handshake is my favorite.

Just a moment later, the sun dipped behind the trees and disappeared. It was only there for literally the length of time it took for the bride to walk down the aisle, and I am so glad it was captured in the series.
