I have been photographing at the Chequessett Club in Wellfleet, Mass every summer since 2008. It is absolutely a hidden gem for wedding venues on cape cod! My favorite part about it is how truly customizable the space is - I've seen formal and casual weddings, large and small, weddings with huge floral budgets and those that let the natural ambiance of the boathouse and beach take center stage, lobster bakes and even a food truck wedding. There are indoor, outdoor, tented and beach areas and the whole thing is yours to design your perfect event.
What I love about photographing at the Chequessett Club every year is that I meet clients who truly love and are attached to the Wellfleet and Truro areas of cape cod. Stories of growing up on these beaches, and then introducing their fiance to this magical part of the cape get me every time. It adds a lot to your story to get married at a place you truly love and I feel this comes through in their images.
This location has a ton to offer in terms of interesting photography spots. I've used the boathouse in several ways, the stairs to the beach, the beach itself (of course!), and the rock break wall that is directly in front of the tented area. The main dining room in the clubhouse is great for smaller groups. If you are interested in an additional location for photographs that compliments the style of a Chequessett wedding, many clients take the very quick drive to Uncle Tim's Bridge right in Wellfleet with either their wedding party and family or just the two of them. There are some images in this collection that show how well that location flows with the Chequessett Club. I am also often invited to clients homes or local rental homes for getting ready images or after party coverage.
